Perth WA Halal Restaurant: O'Mama Kopitiam

***UPDATE: The restaurant has longer have Halal Certifate. Now, the named has changed***

Sometimes we come here just to had our dinner or lunch. Oh yes, we also had the yummy Gelare here as previous post. It is located at Waterford Plaza, Karawara; about 8-9km from our cosy home.

This time around was to try the O'Mama Kopitiam, just opposite the Gelare. The restaurant looks simple with few lights and Chinese tanglong decoration in front of the counter. Plus the marble tables and chairs, reminds me of the tradition of Baba & Nyonya of Melaka. Oh yes, we've been told that the restaurant itself is owned by a Malaysian Melaka Baba Nyonya.

Not many people at this hour, maybe it's a bit late~~nearly close.

There is a promotional offer going on, where you can get a nasi lemak with a chicken side dish for only $4.80! I think that's cheap enough as the cheapest meal that I normally can get is $5.50-$6.00. The offer starts from lunch I think until it's sold out. And obviously it is not available at night - I think it's being sold out before the afternoon comes! Will try it one day insyaAllah, the photo looks tempting!

Definitely not this photo, the front poster facing outside. Forgot to snap a photo of it. Sorry!

We ordered Horfun in egg sauce and Claypot Loh Shud Fun/Udon. Price range is between $14-$20 per dish, which I find it a bit pricey. But I guess the Horfun is fair enough with the large dish being served as below, while the claypot is just a normal fried noodles. I think they just fry the noodles and served it using the claypot. The noodles doesn't look like being cook directly in the claypot. Haihh..and for the small claypot which costs us $13.50, it is definitely expensive.

Overall, the restaurant isn't that bad at all, just average. The service was a bit poor- you have to wait quite a long time although there were not that busy. I can't imagine if we come during peak hours.

Perth WA Halal Restaurant: Bua Siam Restaurant

Recommended by a friend of ours, we then decided to give it a try to this lovely restaurant. It is located in Langford Avenue, which is not far from our house. Since yesterday was their anniversary day, they offer discounts for all customers ie 15% to those take-away and 20% for those dining in.

There were many cars parked outside the restaurant, showing that the restaurant will be crowded. As expected, most of the tables were occupied. Alhamdulillah, hubby made a wise decision by making a reservation less than an hour earlier. So, we managed to get our seats =) I remember my friend of mine once said that when she came about a month ago, there were none except their family. I believed the discount offers must be the main attraction of why people grab the chance to come and taste it that night!

Deep Fried Whole Fish with three taste sauce

Massaman Beef Curry

Once seated, we've been served with a plate of prawn crackers and plain water. Of course with a menu for each of us, including Maryam..hehe..Quite difficult to choose since we don't have anything in mind. So we ended up with Deep Fried Whole Fish with three taste sauce, Massaman beef curry and 2 steamed rice. Luckily we don't order those entree or soups as those were more than enough! Jenuh nak menghabiskan nasi dan lauk!

Alhamdulillah, great taste! Sedap and recommended! Deep Fried Whole Fish with three taste sauce; we thought that might be similar with Ikan Masak 3 Rasa in Malaysia. But, no-it's different. The sauce was sauce - not that spicy, sweet and I just loved the taste! The same with Massaman Beef Curry- a special Thai Curry, which is definitely different from those curry that I made at home! hehe...It is a mild curry seasoned with tamarind, palm sugar and coconut milk with potatoes and peanuts.

Would love to have another try insyaAllah. But not that often definitely as it is quite pricey. Once in a while would be okay.

Why don't you have it a try yourself?

Mohd Chan Abdullah Restaurant

We first came here for our lunch, recommended by the relatives. Since the place is quite near from the parents', so we've stopped there for lunch on our way to their house.

Simple restaurant, very humble I must say. Warming welcome from the waiters/waiteresses really made ourselves comfortable as home. Alhamdulillah. Quite difficult to decide on what to order, as you would feel like want to order and try everything. Since we came in a small group ie just 3 of us, so we decided to try the simple a la carte menu.

I had a Cantonese Rice, which is yummy! Alhamdulillah. I would say that the taste is more or less like a Cantonese Mee/Kuewtiau where the difference is only that it is served with rice =)
But, the food was great - completes all nutrition that I need...heheh

Hubby had Kam Heong Fried Rice, which I forgot to take the photo. Too hungry to take the photo of his food. Hehhe..The taste is not that expected; which I guess it must have been added too much soy ketchup into it.

Nasi Kantonis. Marvellous!

Some of the drinks available here

Dining area..simple and clean

Prices is quite reasonable. Not that expensive; which cost us less than RM20 for 2 pax.

The restaurant is located in Dataran Glomac, Kelana Jaya. You can get more full information here.

Don't forget to try it yourself!

Don't forget to taste it yourself. Wait no more!

Ayers Rock, Bukit Jelutong

Been here for the first time for our lunch. First impression, looks expensive and delicious. Step inside to had the taste after being recommended from the beloved hubby.

Situated in the middle of housing area, Ayers Rock Butchery & Grill offers meat for take-away plus grill it for you, dining in. Restaurant was clean and simple, at my first glance. Once you are in, there are meat cases on your right just before the cashier. PLenty of different types of meats available from ribs eye, tenderloin, striploin etc.

The restaurants quite empty, just a family of three were having their lunch. Maybe Malaysian don't really favour to had western food during lunch, I guess. As according to hubby, when he first came for dinner sometime last month with his friends, the restaurants was really crowded and full!

The menu was really simple. Not much choices I supposed. But that doesn't mean it is not worth trying. So we ordered rib eye steak and striploin steak since hubby's first choice of having to let me taste their burger and aussie steak was not available for the day due to no stock! Nevermind. Good reason to come here again..hehe..

The meals were ready quite fast! Maybe there's not many customers or they just very efficient. The prices ranging from RM20 - 100, depends on what you order. Drinks? Not much options available. Just few options; what we had was A&W rootbeer and ice lemon tea. Costs RM3.00 and above.

Stirloin Steak - RM 30

Rib eye steak - RM 35

Excellent deco!

More delicious with tobasco sauces! Can you spot the cute salt & peppershaker in the shape of hugging friends?

Both steaks comes with some salad and potatoes, complimented each other. I must say, it is really satisfying and delicious! Give it a try yourself.

TomYam Lovers!!

Have you heard of Eiman's Tom Yam House ?

For those staying in TTDI Jaya, you must have at least heard of them. Yup, from the name itself you can know that they are specialising in Tom Yam. Open daily from 10am to 12 midnight.

We first came here sometime last Ramadhan for our iftar. Almost everyday we noticed that they are full and packed with customers, walk in and off the restaurant. When we first step in, we thought that it must be one of the expensive restaurants as the interior looks cosy and nicely done. They even have a corner of waterfall at the back of the restaurant.  As far as we know, only luxury restaurant have that kind of interior! But....we were wrong this time!

You have plenty of choices here. From plain rice with many types of side dish up to ala carte menu you can choose from. Taste? Delicious and I'm sure that will not be the last time you came there!

For Fried Rice; they have quite long list for just Fried Rice. For instance, Chinese Fried Rice, Tom Yam Fried Rice etc, which cost you between RM4.50 to RM6.50 per plate. There are also various types of mee such as fried mee, tom yam mee etc. You named it, they have most of it all!!

Their Tom Yam also number 1! Great taste! FYI, they have more than 20 choices of Tom Yam! All varies from seafood Tom Yam to Chicken or Meat Tom Yam. The Tom Yam aroma will definitely completed with the necessary fresh vegetables.

The waiter and waitress are very efficient in taking and serving your orders. They are quite friendly and very helpful.

Wait no more. You should try it yourself one day!
